Step 7 - How can the Problem Challenge be solved?
Turn your template over and fold it so that box F - the PROBLEM CHALLENGE is visible from side 2. Now using the dice, take one of the 12 KN3W IDEAS operators and begin to generate ideas that will solve your PROBLEM CHALLENGE, trying to eliminate blocking factors, increasing the usefulness of enabling factors, adding new useful factors and overcoming the contradictions. Capture your IDEA on the task template, and use the dice to select another operator. Continue to capture ideas until you feel you have at least 5 great ideas. Capture your 5 ideas in box G and H of the main template, and pick one idea that you feel is the best idea, or combine several elements for the 5 ideas into one BEST IDEA, and capture that idea in box I. If time permits, the team can do several rounds of idea generation, creating multiple ideas per person. Now create an IDEA BOARD for each of the BEST IDEAS, which can include some basic illustrations, graphics, branding and packaging, to help ‘sell’ your best idea to the rest of the group. |
